Voice AI Disclosure
Last updated: August 25, 2026
This page is the full version of the notice the Saidee app shows you before it sets up a business number. It explains what the voice AI does on your behalf, how calls are recorded and kept, and what stays your responsibility as the owner. It works alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, which continue to apply in full.
What Sadie is
When Voice AI is enabled on your account, Sadie answers your business calls as an AI receptionist on your behalf. Sadie greets the caller in real time, works out what they need, and can book appointments, take messages, and screen out spam. Sadie is the voice of the Saidee service: the two names refer to the same product.
Telling callers they are talking to an AI
Whether Sadie announces itself to callers as an AI is your choice. The setting lives in the app under Voice Settings, called “Announce Sadie as an AI assistant”, and it is off by default. In a small number of regions it starts on, but you should not rely on that: check the setting yourself. If a caller asks whether they are speaking with a person or an AI, Sadie answers truthfully, but while the setting is off it makes no announcement of its own.
Some regions require callers to be told when an AI is on the line. Knowing and following the rules where you operate, and where your callers are, is your responsibility. Saidee does not give that notice on your behalf and does not determine what your obligations are. We will add region-specific guidance as Saidee expands.
Recording and transcription
Calls answered by Sadie are recorded and transcribed. Recordings are kept for 90 days and then deleted automatically. Very short recordings with no speech, under about five seconds, are discarded immediately.
Transcripts power your call log and follow-ups: they are how you can read what a caller asked for, review what Sadie said, and pick the conversation back up later. How recordings and transcripts are stored, who can access them, and how to have them deleted are described in our Privacy Policy.
Call-recording law
Rules around recording calls differ by region. Some places require only one party to the call to consent, which can be you. Others require every party to consent, which usually means telling the caller the call is being recorded. Following the local rules for call recording, including any required disclosures to callers, is your responsibility.
A separate setting in Voice Settings, next to the AI announcement, adds a recording notice to your greeting. It is also off by default. When you provision a Voice AI number, we ask you to affirm in-app that you will provide whatever notice the law of your region, and the regions of your callers, requires.
Smart voicemail
On plans without the full AI receptionist, Saidee answers the calls your phone forwards to it with a short greeting, records the caller's message, transcribes it, and texts the caller back so they can book over text. Voicemails are recordings too: the same retention described above and the same call-recording responsibilities apply to them.
Your responsibility
Enabling Voice AI or smart voicemail means committing to use Saidee properly and in line with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. The Terms cover your responsibility to inform callers in more detail, and the Privacy Policy explains exactly what data these features collect and how it is handled. If you have a question about any of this, email support@saidee.ai.
